Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is the national flag carrier of Pakistan and operates a fleet of 30+ aircraft. PIA operates an average of about 100 flights daily and it flies to 25 domestic and 28 international destinations across Asia, the Middle East, and North America through its fleet of 33 modern aircraft.

The global aviation industry in a post COVID-19 shift has been looking for avenues to organize new revenue streams from existing revenue passengers. PIA also intended to redefine their strategy on how the commercial models could be reorganized with new businesses and technology paving the way for new revenue streams, better user experience and higher profits. As part of the transition Pakistan International airlines invited proposals for portable In-flight Wi-Fi devices with wireless streaming In-flight Entertainment (IFE) system.
