Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication Pakistan (MoITT) is the national focal Ministry and enabling arm of the Government of Pakistan for planning, coordinating, and directing efforts to initiate and launch Information Technology and Telecommunications programs and projects aimed at economic development of the country.
MOITT desired to evaluate the scope of AI in global and local perspective in relation to Pakistan’s planned transition towards technology driven knowledge economy. Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming various aspects of our lives, including healthcare, transportation, education, and more. There was a dire need for a national AI policy that provides a strategic direction for AI development and implementation in Pakistan.
GlowBug Technologies has helped the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecom in the following:
- Organizing the feasibility study for the establishment of Center of Excellence (CoE) in AI
- Drafting the National AI Policy based on the feasibility study, market demand, and security concerns by providing guidelines and regulations for the development and deployment of AI in sensitive areas.
- Drafting of PC-1 (Project Proposals) for CoEs based on the findings of Feasibility Study and the developmental agenda set forth in the AI Policy.
The National AI Policy of Pakistan aims to ensure that AI development and implementation are ethical, responsible, and aligned with a country’s economic and national security interests.
